PC 832 Arrest and Control
Prerequisites:
No felony convictions or firearms restrictions.
Obtain a LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING Clearance Letter (Results may take up to 4 weeks). Obtain medical clearance as required by POST. The medical and livescan clearance are required 2 weeks before the course.

POST) Regulation 1005 (a) (7) Every limited function peace officer shall satisfactorily meet the requirements of the PC 832 Arrest & Firearms Course, however training in the carrying and use of firearms shall not be required when an employing agency prohibits limited function peace officers the use of firearms.
The Arrest Course is a 40-hour requirement. This course consists of 13 topics, called Learning Domains. Learning Domains contain the minimum required foundational information for given subjects. The training and testing specifications for a particular domain may also include information on required instructional activities and testing requirements. The Arrest Course includes multiple-choice written examination and several skill examinations on Arrest and Control Techniques. The tests are graded pass/fail, with one re-test opportunity. If any re-test is failed, the course must be repeated in its entirety.
